CMS Proposes Hip and Femur Fractures for CJR; New Cardiac Bundles for Most of Texas

On July 25, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a proposal to add hip and femur fractures to the 67 existing Comprehensive Center for Joint Replacement (CJR) regions, effective January 1, 2017.  In addition, CMS announced a proposal to mandate bundled payments for cardiac care (heart attacks and bypass surgery) in 98 regions, many of which encompass Texas.

CMS is proposing to make the bundles effective on July 1, 2017.
