New Texas Law Prevents Insurance Carriers from Delisting a Physician for Out-of-network Care Options; Learn More About HB 574

HB 574 passed out of the 2015 Texas Legislature and prevents commercial insurance carriers from delisting a physician from its network as a result of the physician referring a patient to an out-of-network provider or facility.

It is important to keep in mind that the state of Texas does not have jurisdiction over self-funded (ERISA) plans.  Only the federal government can govern those plans.
