Just for Orthopaedic Residents
Mingle with Orthopaedists, Bring Home Some Cash
The TOA Annual Meeting, our annual conference and scientific symposia, takes place every spring.
The TOA Program Committee invites you to submit an abstract if you would like to participate in the
scientific session. Resident Awards for best papers range from $500 to $1500 and are awarded at the TOA Annual Business Luncheon.
You are sure to enjoy the scientific programming, hands-on workshops, and social functions at which you can mingle with orthopaedic surgeons
from across the state of Texas. We hope to see you there! Click here for pictures and a recap of the 2007 Annual Meeting.
The Business of Orthopaedics
Our highly successful and original resident training course has been the inspiration for similar programs in other
states and at the national level. Held in the autumn concurrently with our socioeconomic interim meeting, this course
will help prepare you to set up or join a practice, evaluate and negotiate your first contract, market your practice,
and manage reimbursement issues; information will also be provided on ancillary services, physician-patient
communication, and vendor relations and ethics. The seminar is targeted towards 4th and 5th year orthopaedic residents,
but all are invited and encouraged to attend. The best news of all: in addition to providing free registration, TOA will
provide one hotel room night free to all residents who wish to attend. So bring your families!
